BOULDERPAVEMENT: Arts & Ideas, is a multidisciplinary, multimedia, on-line quarterly published by the Banff Centre Press. Featuring lively, creative content for the Internet, the journal presents an array of forms including dance, music, video, sound and visual art, critique, poetry, fiction and non-fiction writing by artists around the world. Stimulating words, sounds, and images provide a rich viewer experience in arts, ideas, nature, and culture.

BOULDERPAVEMENT was founded in 2010 by Steven Ross Smith, the Director of Literary Arts at The Banff Centre, and Nick Hutcheson, former Associate Editor and Workstudy. The journal was published bi-annually, featuring twelve artists in each issue in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, BOULDERPAVEMENT moved to four issues per year, each featuring six artists from different disciplines.






BOULDERPAVEMENT accepts submission proposals and publishes four issues annually. The next four issues’ themes and due dates are as follows: issue 10’s theme is Geography and the due date is February 28, 2013; issue 11’s theme is Violence and the due date is May 30, 2013; issue 12’s theme is The Book and the due date is August 30, 2013 and issue 13′s theme is Luck and the due date is October 31, 2013.


Submissions received after the posted above dates will be returned. For new work or work in progress, please send a concise description no longer than one page, a sample of up to two pages, and a brief bio.
